The Mullerthal Trail is a 112 km hiking trail that passes through the Mullerthal region, often referred to as the ‘Little Switzerland’ because of its outstanding natural beauty. It’s not uncommon to find rugged terrain, thick forests and plenty of streams in this region, just like in Switzerland. The best way to start the hike is to take a bus from Luxembourg City to a quaint little village called Echternach. From here, visitors can decide which of the three hikes they would like to take. Each hike has something unique and charming to offer. One of the most photographed sights on the trails is the Schiessentumpel, a small and picturesque waterfall on the Black Ernz River. The pretty stone bridge and the impressive rock formations make it one of the most popular excursion spots in this region.
