With every inch of floor-to-ceiling space filled with thousands of out-of-print and second-hand books in absolutely no order whatsoever, it's nigh-on impossible to just pop in here and grab a novel.
Australiana is the specialty area, but there's no stock list - never has been - so don't expect staff to be able to tell you exactly what they have. But that's half the fun of a trip to Gould's: this place is designed for curious rummagers with time on their side.
