There are markets that pop up all over Dover and the Kent region which one can visit on the way in or out of Dover. De Bradelei Wharf Dover feels like a string of warehouse-like buildings sitting in a row and they house a large discount store. There are popular brands and local brands, always a lot of choice, and importantly a discount. If you are driving down then don’t forget to get a refund on the parking ticket. The setting is also amazing as it is just off Dover Promenade and offers views of the castle. It is open from Monday to Saturday 9:30am-5:30pm and on Sundays from 10am-4.30pm.
Dover's Bluebird Market is an outdoor market with over 20 stalls selling a wide array of stuff from fresh food, to plants, flowers, clothes, etc. It is open every Tuesday at the Dover Town Centre from 9am to 3pm.
For local produce visit St Margaret's Monthly Market which takes place on the last Friday of every month from 9am to 12:30pm. Stalls here have fresh local farm produce and one can also get some Indian food. This market takes place at St Margaret's Village Hall, Reach Road, St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe, a short distance away from the South Foreland Lighthouse.
A nice way to end the day is by walking down the Marine Parade. With the ferries and ships to one side, the Dover Castle behind and the White Cliffs in the distance it is a perfect farewell to Dover.
