Gili Selang

Gili Selang is a small island that lies on Bali’s furthest eastern tip. It has been discovered recently as a dive site and thus hasn’t been much explored yet; it is only open for expert divers as it is considered a deep dive due to the strong currents. Gili Selang is supposed to be a great dive site to see sharks and the grey reef sharks and even hammerheads. Dolphins make an appearance every now and then. Other species that can be spotted are the white-tip reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, barracudas, bumphead parrotfish and schooling batfish. The dive generally starts on the black-sand slope, where it is possible to see lots of nudibranchs and gobies. The reefs start at about 4 m and are a mixture of soft and hard corals. Visibility is between 20 and 25 meters and the water temperature between 20 and 30 degree Celsius.
