If you always dreamt of living and working in London, it is time to quickly polish up your culinary skills. That, because Queen Elizabeth II wants to hire a chef with a discerning eye to add some zing to the food menu of the Buckingham Palace.
According to the job posting, the chef in service at the palace will get paid $27623 per year, boarding and lodging, and a 15 per cent employer contribution pension scheme. In terms of eligible criteria, the chef will be required to be “ambitious and qualified” to match the exceptionally high standards and daily busy schedule at the palace.
Additionally, the prospective chef should have prior work experience within a luxury kitchen or volume catering scenario. However, it is the ability and fervour of the chef to cater to all the culinary sections that will be a key factor in his or her selection.
If you are wondering how this would benefit someone who has a love for cooking and travelling both, there is more. Well, the first benefit is that this job will be based in London, which means that the chef will get a chance to explore the city and its beautiful countryside. Second, the chef in service of the royal kitchens will also get to visit other royal establishments. Thus, it is a win-win situation for a chef looking for different experiences.
The only downside of this job for a social media-savvy chef is that they won’t be allowed to disclose their role, location or any other job-related information on social media. It is a pact made while signing the offer letter and everyone employed in the royal household is expected to adhere to it.
If are OK with that and wish to go ahead, apply on the “job postings” section of the Royal household. Applications are open till Sunday, July 28, 2019.
