Fishing is a popular sport in the city of Edmonton, and it is no surprise considering that the areas surrounding Edmonton is full of great lakes and the North Saskatchewan River. If you are serious about fishing, we recommend hooking up with a guiding company, in particular, the Get Hooked guiding company who offers all-inclusive fishing trips. The fishing trips range from half day trips to three day trips, and can accommodate any level of fisherman (or woman). A typical full day trip starts at 8am and ends at 5pm and includes all the tackle you need, rain gear, a sit down lunch, and of course the guide and the boat. It is important to note you need to get a valid Alberta Fishing License in advance. Some of the fish you can expect to catch include Northern Pike, Walleye, Goldeye, Sauger, and the huge Sturgeon. If you do have your own gear and want to fish on your own, think about heading to Hermitage Park Pond that is stocked with over 3,000 Rainbow Trout.
