Georgia to provide eVisa to Indian visitors

Georgia, a picturesque country set at the intersection of Europe and Asia, has introduced eVisa for India. Under the MoU (memorandum of understanding), VFS Global will work with Georgia’s Foreign Affairs ministry to develop a digital eVisa solution. This will help manage the processing of eVisa/Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) applications. Using this service, an individual will be able to upload the required supporting documents online along with a fee.
Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Giorgi Tabatadze mentioned that “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with other agencies, is currently undertaking active efforts to make more effective the tourism promotion mechanism already in place. VFS Global will facilitate visa submission process for Indian citizens.”

According to the legal agreement, VFS Global controls 16 Georgia visa application centres across India. The MoU signed will only streamline the complex procedures by removing technical barriers.
Vinay Malhotra, Regional Group COO – South Asia, Middle East and China, VFS Global said that they are honoured to have been chosen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgia to provide travellers from India new eVisa services along with the regular visa services. He also added that this will inspire and encourage more Indians to travel to Georgia and choose the country as their next travel destination.

The introduction of eVisa for Indians by Georgia government is definitely going to increase Indian tourists footfall in the country.
