Heading to the beach isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of visiting Winnipeg but this city and the surrounding area actually boasts some of the best beaches in all of Canada. The best of all of them is located on Lake Winnipeg and is perhaps the most family friendly. Grand Beach can be enjoyed by families of all ages and especially those with younger kids as the waters are calm and shallow ensuring that everyone stays safe. The boardwalk that goes out over the water is stroller friendly, there are nearby restaurants in case you forget to pack your picnic lunch and you can even get a little history lesson in with the historical photos. Winnipeg Beach is another really great family friendly beach that offers kids the choice of jet skiing, boating and fishing as well as swimming. There is a variety of things to do here including tennis, soccer and strolling along the boardwalk to the ice cream shop. It is important to note that there are no lifeguards on duty here. As an added bonus at Winnipeg Beach there is a bandstand that often hosts live music throughout the day and night.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
