The experience of sitting high atop an elephant in a teak chair, going across the tropical jungles, feeling like the Maharaja of Jaipur, is an experience you will not easily forget. If you are coming from halfway across the globe, you will expect at least one out-of-this-world adventure and you will find it at the Elephant Safari Park near Ubud. Displays of elephant intelligence and their capabilities can be viewed at the Park Arena and elephants can also be seen painting at selected times daily. Kids are allowed to wash and feed their new-found friends, under supervision of the mahouts. The acclaimed Elephant Safari Park is sanctuary to 27 of these protected and endangered species of Sumatran pachyderms. All the elephants at the park were rescued from deforestation of jungles in Central & Southern Sumatra. You will be moved by the friendly demeanour and extraordinary talents of these gentle giants.
