Situated north of Patong Beach close to the town of Cherng Talay, Bangtao Beach is dominated by luxurious resorts and villas with their own restaurants, shops and golf courses. The best of the lot are Laguna resorts, a complex of seven hotels around a lagoon. The beach itself has an idyllic quality with white sands and turquoise waters that are perfect for swimming and kayaking. There are facilities for sports, massages and seafood joints all around, but the northern end of the beach is still undeveloped and quiet. Visitors may also find traditional boats on the southern part of the beach.
