Likened to a miniature Windsor Castle, the palace looks out of place amidst its bustling surroundings, but is a beacon of tradition amongst the modernisation in the city. A replica of the royal British home in Berkshire, the palace was constructed back in 1862 and took close to a century to complete. Today, it serves as the venue for private parties in its ballroom and is open to public events on its sprawling grounds. But if you’re not invited to one of those soirees, take a couple of hours out of your busy schedule to appreciate the structure’s gothic windows, towering turrets and creeping ivory.
