Quietly set amidst the sprawling green lands, forests and hills is the pristine and majestic Dudhni Lake. It is only 17 km away from Khanvel and 40 km away from Silvassa. The beautiful span of land is dotted with small villages, winding roads through the woods, gushing waterfalls and numerous hiking trails. It is a perfect place for a family weekend vacation. As a responsible traveler, my recommendation would be to not throw plastic waste on the banks of Dudhni Lake on anywhere around and teach your children the same. While travelling, I have seen many parents carelessly throw wrappers and used material around in front of their children. I urge you to not do that in such pristine environments and set an example for children.Silvassa has been home to tribes like Warli, Dhodia and Kokna for centuries. To commemorate their art, culture and life, government has established a small museum in the heart of Silvassa town. It shows how different anthropological tribes originated and thrived in this area, how they have lived their lives and adapted to the changes of modern development. One can see bows, daggers and spears on the walls of the museum. The museum also shows photos of daily life, weddings, Kanseri festival and Kokna tribal dance. The museum is open to public from 9 AM – 5 PM and there is no entry fee.
