This September, you can visit more than 1500 museums in the US for free; know how

For the lovers of art and history in the United States, this is supposed to be the magical September! Mark the date, 21 September 2019, on your calendar in big, bold letters and keep yourself free for you can explore around 1500 museums in the United States for free.
Wondering what the occasion is? Well, it is the 15th Annual Museum Day in the US and making entry free for all the museums is the way the nation celebrates it. And it’s not just museums, but art galleries several science centres, aquariums, zoos and gardens as well that will be providing free entry on the day. All you have to do it download special tickets from the official websites of the museums you wish to visit!

On the Museum Day last year in 2018, more than 450000 tickets were downloaded; it’s estimated that around 1.2 million free admissions were done then, considering that one ticket is valid for two free entries.
This time, the theme is Year of Music and several museums will be offering special music-themed programs. As per reports, the Lightner Museum in Florida is planning to host a museum-themed scavenger hunt in its art galleries. Also, the museum will demonstrate electric self-playing violin, along with several other old, mechanical musical instruments.

Similarly, Massachusetts’s Armenian Museum of America has decided to play live Armenian music in its galleries while the Montana Natural History Center in Missoula will demonstrate and explain how all the animals hear differently.

So, undoubtedly, it’s also going to be fun for music lovers as they will get free access to the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles; the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Virginia; and the Blues Hall of Fame among others.
