Nanshan Tourism Zone

Situated 40 kilometres away from Sanya, this tourist zone comprises of three theme parks focusing on Buddhism, Chinese culture and Hainan province. Located next to the sea-facing Nanshan Mountain – an important ancient Buddhist site – the zone’s centrepiece is the 108-metre high Bodhisattva Guayin statue, which has been installed on a lotus-shaped platform on the sea. One of the tallest in the world, the three-sided statue faces the coast as well as the sea. The complex also has restaurants specialising in traditional vegetarian dishes, and there are regular performances of classical Chinese music and martial arts.
