This showroom is a great place to pick up or even just admire Jaipur’s famous glazed blue pottery. These ceramics get their striking colour from the Persian blue dye which is used to colour the clay, and combe Chinese glazing techniques and Persian decorative elements. The technique originated in Samarqand in Uzbekistan and travelled to Jaipur via Delhi in the 17th century. Kripal Kumbh was founded in the 1960s by Kripal Singh Shekhawat, who was later awarded the Padma Shri for reviving blue pottery and adding new shades to this ceramic art. The shop has utilitarian products and artistic decoration pieces such as bowls, vases, ashtrays, coasters and jewellery boxes.
