In Leipzig, you are never too far from music, be it in street corners, squares in churches or museums. With over 800 years of musical history hosting over 500 music related individuals, Leipzig has predictably a concentration of music sites that is not found anywhere else in the world. And the best way to savour this is the innovatively and interestingly designed Leipzig Music Trail or Leipziger Notenspur. Designed to be done on your own and at your own pace, it is guiding system linking 23 of the most famous and notable music sites in the city, spanning a five kilometre route. Each of the sites has a display board with information about the particular site but also maps and lists of sites. The route is also marked by a set of curving stainless steel inserts on the pavement which lead from one to the next. The sites include a mix of churches, museums, concert halls, statues and interactive music installations. But of all the sites, the most adorable and riveting is a sound cone located in a passage where you stand under a cone and listen to the city sounds of music rendered by a plethora of all time greats.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
