The easiest way to get from A to B

Word to the wise: Tipping cabbies in Edinburgh is at your own discretion, though it’s generally considered polite to tip around five to ten percent of the fee.
If you can’t walk or hop on a bus to your destination in Edinburgh, your only viable option is a taxi. If you have five passengers or less, hail a black cab, which displays an orange light above the windscreen if they’re free. If you have more than five people, you will need to pre-book a minicab.

Amongst the cheapest, cleanest and most reliable black cabs in the city are Central Taxis, ComCab and City Cabs, while if you’re in need of a minicab you should give Festival City Cars a call.
