Scotland is famous for its creative influence, having invented the telephone, the bicycle, the steam engine, the television and a whole range of sports, and you’ll find exhibitions on these throughout the museum. You’ll also get to know the country’s proud scientific heritage, with achievements ranging from the discovery of penicillin to the cloning of Dolly the sheep.
The museum also contains interactive exhibitions on the varied people of Scotland – from early Celts to Scottish Kings and Queens – along with geological and natural history, modern artworks, and much more besides. It’s the perfect place to spend one of the many rainy days in the capital.
