An insight into the famous Surrealist painter's life

Housed in the apartment which Magritte and his wife rented from 1930 to 1954, this museum not only offers an impressive collection of the Surrealist master's paintings but also reveals the personal life of the man behind it all.
Using the interior for inspiration, Magritte produced almost half of his work here, with the help of Surrealist friends who used it as their headquarters. The apartment has been fully restored, including the dining room studio in which he painted some of his most famous works.

Personal items, such as his trademark bowler hat and pipe, are scattered around the apartment and on the upper floors, original sketches, letters, photographs and around 30 of his paintings are displayed in a biographical exhibit.
