A long-time backpacker staple, Zoe in Yellow is actually the name of one specific bar, but usually used for the cluster of bars in the eastern part of the Old City. Other common names for the area are Babylon Bar, the “reggae bars” or “The Soi”. Here you’ll find young backpackers partying the night away while bouncing between bars playing top 40 hits and reggae vibes. The weekends here can get rowdy and you may feel a little out of place if you’re not in your early twenties or ten drinks deep. It’s one of the few places in town where you can dance the night away. Luckily, there are several restaurants and food counters in the complex. Roving street stalls vendors tend to make their way later in the night, so that you can soak up some of that alcohol with fresh gyros and Thai drinking food favourites. Read less
