If you are looking to escape the busy streets and popular bars along the beach, then Wassa Homemade Bar is for you. Well known for its fantastic sunsets, Wassa Homemade Bar is perched on rainforest covered hill overlooking the Patong Bay. As the sun goes down, the lights of Patong come up and provide a glittery show for you as you sit back and breathe the fresh ocean air. The bar is family owned, and super friendly, priding themselves on welcoming patrons and providing a relaxing space to unwind from the day’s bustle. The bar is spread over split levels, with balconies and decks to maximize the view. Although the drinks menu is small and fairly simple, drinks are reasonably priced and well made. Local beers are $3USD, mixed drinks range from $3USD - $4USD, and there are also the classic range of soft drinks and fresh fruit juices and smoothies, from $2.50USD. This little friendly bar is highly recommended for a quiet drink at sunset (hint- the best time to watch the sunset is May - July when the sun drops right in the middle of the bay!). That said, the road up is pretty steep and scary, so try and go as far as you can and then walk, as even tuk tuks and motos have trouble.
