A small bar with a big character and lots of personality, Adhere is one of the most intimate music venues in the city. Located inside a shophouse, the space within is narrow, and accommodates a bar with high stools towards the back, while the front consists of comfortable, low seating. The in-house band—Bangkok Connection—plays the best blues in the city (feel free to request your favourite Miles Davis track, they’ll do a great job of it), and comprises of one guitarist (a local musician who’s also the owner of the bar), a bass player, a drummer and the occasional guest vocalist. Everything about this bar screams cosy intimacy—the walls are covered in framed photographs and record covers, the empty space between the front and back doubles as the performance stage, and many nights, the band makes way for guests acts and impromptu jam sessions where local musicians play together just for the fun of it. If you’re a true blue fan of the blues, grab a beer and spend the evening soaking in the vibe.
