If you are craving a little bit of east coast, this city has you covered. The Trap and Gill is Calgary’s best east coast bar where patrons come to listen to live Celtic music, eat traditional east coast seafood and enjoy friendly east coast attitude. Thursdays here are open mic nights and they have live Celtic music every Friday and Saturday nights starting at 9pm. An interesting fact about this happening bar is that when they first opened it, they wanted to call it the ‘Tap and Grill’ but liquor laws prevented them, so instead they moved the ‘r’ from Grill and thus it became the ‘Trap and Gill’. Featuring a popular summer patio, this place doesn’t really have a down time and as they say, “you don’t have to be an east coaster to party like an east coaster”. Get out your dancing shoes and head on to a weekend night for fish and chips, live music and great hospitality.
