Many hold that Sam’s Bar, perhaps is the longest standing bar in Kathmandu and it occupies a cult status amid locals and travellers alike. Housed in the upper level of an old building in Thamel area, Sam’s Bar is a place that might take some time to locate; but once you find it, this place is going to make a room for itself in your travel diary. The menu of this place majorly features alcoholic drinks with very less food items, except for some light snacks and side platters. A popular meet-and-greet place among trekkers, mountain guides and Kathmandu regulars, Sam’s Bar is a must visit if you are into the culture of the night. They also play reggae music every Saturday!
