Silent Noise & On the Rocks

If you have landed in Goa on a Friday or Saturday, there is no better way to start your tour than a party with three to five hundred other travelers from all over the world! Silent Noise will surprise you.
There's a revolution, quietly brewing in Goa's party scene for the past few years. Hundreds of revelers from all over the world converge on to this southern beach, usually known for its relatively calm waters, with clean granular sand, on Saturday nights for endless bouts of fun. No, it is not some underground rave party. It is all legit. It is Silent Noise. When the clock strikes midnight, the high-decibel speakers go off and you have to put on the high-fidelity wireless headphones to continue. Three DJs, led by Ozgur Kurt, the talented musician and the outfit's stylish Turkish-British lead, throw the beats on red (progressive, techno, trance), blue (deep and groovy house) and green (Indian, pop) channels. You just have to select the channel that you fancy by using a switch on your gear. The lights on the powerful headphones indicate the channel. That's it. Go find your tribe or rock solo. The event is also marked by fire dancers and aerial performers. Revel.

For an onlooker, these hundreds of people dancing without any music (seemingly!) present a surprising sight. Silent Noise teaches you to party without breaking noise pollution norms and disturbing others. On the Rocks, the venue for this unique event is nicely tucked at one end of Palolem, away from the relatively busy main beach access.
