This lively spot on Khaosan Road is one of Bangkok’s best nightlife finds. The intimate underground venue is always full to the brim with an almost entirely Thai crowd. Throughout the week and weekend Brick Bar features some of the city’s best live bands playing ska and reggae music all night long. It is virtually impossible to feel gloomy in this punk paradise. And since most of the young people travelling through the Big Mango wind up here at the infamous Khao San Road at some point or another, there’s no excuse to skip this fun spot.
If you want to be surrounded by other foreigners, you’re better off trying somewhere like Lava Gold, a club that plays quality dance music and is a staple of Khao San Road. But for those trying to get away from tourists, and experience the real Thai nightlife, then Brick Bar is the place to go to. Weekdays even offer free entry, which is a great deal to see live bands. However, weekends cost more at around 200 THB. Just don’t blame us if you end up dancing on the tables at 1am.
