Trincas is easily the most iconic jazz bar in Kolkata loved equally by celebrities, politicians, and the man on the street. Over half a century old, this bar has hosted some of the most famous crooners before they hit the big stage – Usha Uthup, the popular playback singer began her career here as a jazz vocalist. Ideally located in the vicinity of the plush Park Hotel in the eponymous street, Trincas is well known for a wide range of cocktails, and swinging live gigs (which have become infrequent lately).Trincas is easily the most iconic jazz bar of Kolkata loved by celebrities from films and politics who’ve frequented the place since it’s inception in 1959. Over half a century old, this bar has hosted some of the most famous crooners of our century. The most recognisable name would be that of popular playback singer, Usha Uthup who began her career here as a jass vocalist and even sung in a male voice, performing covers of Western chart-toppers. Perched next to the plush Park Hotel in Park Street, the patrons of Trincas swear by their wide range of cocktails and mocktails and their swinging live gigs (which have become infrequent lately). Among eats, their ‘Chicken Dopyaaza’, ‘Mutton Tava Masala’ and ‘Chicken Tangri Kebabs’ would be delicious options.
