Just a stone’s throw from backpacker’s paradise of Khao San Road is the Rolling Bar. With its doors and windows wide open all day long, the place has a welcoming feel to it, inviting you to drop in and have a drink with friends. Its jumbled up mix of furniture gives it an informal, laid-back feel and invites guests to just drop in and hang out on one of the comfy couches, wooden bar stools or plastic fold-up chairs. Bare brick walls, slightly chipped paint and a random collection of decorative objects give you the feeling of sitting in an eccentric friend’s living room rather than a bar in Bangkok. Drinks come at very reasonable prices. If you need some food to go with your drinks, check out their snack menu. Every day, Rolling Bar features live music that covers everything from the 70s and 80s hits to current rock, pop and Indie tracks. Those looking for a less-crowded alternative to the noisy tourist bars of Khao San Road and a place locals frequent as well, will feel right at home here.
