When you stay at the Macdonald Holyrood Hotel, you can be the neighbour of British royalty for the night. Located on the famous Royal Mile, the Holyrood Palace is the official residence of the monarch and the setting for state occasions. Built in 1671-78, the palace officially became ‘royal’ in the 1920s. Past guests have included Nelson Mandela and Pope Benedict XV1.
