If you are looking for a hotel which is purely colonial, Hotel Florida is the place you must choose for your stay in Havana. The hotel started its operation in 1885 and is still home to vintage furniture that is spread across all parts of the property. On entering, a traveller is greeted by a green-and-white marble courtyard beautifully decorated with plants and songbirds kept in pretty white cages. Although the hotel has just 25 rooms, each of them is spacious and has good views. Some of them have small terraces opening up to pleasing views of the cityscape. All the rooms in this hotel are known for their marble bathrooms complete with towelling dressing gowns, big baths and huge old-fashioned showerheads. Hotel Florida is also famous for the quality of food that is being served. While the restaurant here serves delectable items from traditional Cuban cuisine, there are two bars that boast of an extensive list of wines.
