A culinary treat in a country cottage
Word to the wise: A little tricky to find, access is via London Road set back in the park opposite 2 Hillside Crescent.
It really is a garden cottage. Nestled in the leafy Royal Terrace Gardens, the front path leads through a thriving vegetable patch, where you wouldn't be surprised to see Beatrix Potter bunnies bounding about before you step inside the listed stone building.
The interiors are rustic and simple, candlelit by night, and airy by day, with communal seating and a tiny open kitchen, which steals your attention as the two young chefs work studiously to make gastro magic. The food is sensational. You eat what they have grown outside, or whatever meat they've sourced locally, and its delicately put together to constantly surprise and beguile.
