There can be no qualms about the freshness of the fish in this place, after all Eddie's Seafood Market is right next door. Sweet Melindas has been going for 14 years, and was sourcing its fish through the least-damaging means long before sustainability was in vogue. Expect seafood classics such as grilled sardines, lemon sole and Thai fishcakes, alongside the occasional surprise.
It's small, candlelit, intimate and - located just off the tourist-track south of the Meadows - the vibe is neighbourly. There is soft jazz in the background by night and arty black and white photos on the walls making it an excellent date spot.
