Bizarre travels: Samosa from a UK-based restaurateur travels to space, and crash lands in France

If there is one Indian snack that has earned perpetual fame, it has to be the samosa! The joy of relishing piping hot samosa at chai time in the evening or, for that matter, at any time of the day to beat hunger pangs is welcomed by every desi at heart.

So much so, that it is now a hearty snack that even the folks in heaven would crave for! Recently, a UK-based restaurateur, who owns a famous eatery called Chai Walla sent a samosa into the space.
Niraj Gadher, owner of Chai Walla, had once thought of sending a samosa into outer space. In an interview with an international news daily, Niraj said that he thought of using his samosa-space-mission as a reason to laugh during the ongoing grim period of Coronavirus.
Based in Bath, Niraj made the attempt thrice before being successful. Niraj used helium balloons to dispatch a samosa into space. In the first attempt, the helium balloons fell from his hands, and there was not enough helium in the second attempt. However, with lessons learnt, he made another try without giving up his space ambition. Niraj and his friends launched samosa fitted with a GoPro camera and a GPS tracker in the final attempt. After ascending, the GPS faced some tech issue as it reached the higher skies. Niraj, who was all along tracking the movement of his samosa, noted that the GPS started functioning again the following day, but it had crashed and landed in France by then.
As Niraj and his group spread the message about the missing samosa on Instagram, an Instagrammer named Axel Mathon accepted the challenge. He managed to find the lost samosa in a field in Picardie.

It was quite like a treasure hunt, Axel told a news agency.
