If you are looking for some authentic Awadhi cuisine right here in the heart of Kolkata then Dum Pukht at ITC Sonar is the place to be at. The restaurant embraces the culinary style of dum cooking (slow cooking in a sealed handi). You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to the menu at Dum Pukht. Whether vegetarian or non-vegetarian, the dishes are simply mouth-watering. The jhinga dum nisha, (jumbo prawns marinated in cheese and hung yogurt and then cooked in a tandoor) and the signature Dum Pukht kakori kebabs make for a perfect beginning. Vegetarians can try their share of hara kebabs made using spinach and cottage cheese. For main course, non-vegetarians can opt for delicious dishes like murgh rezala or Koh-e-Awadh chef's special korma. Dishes like subzi miloni and dal Dum Pukht are must-have for vegetarians. These can be accompanied by rice preparation or Indian bread such as roti or naan. Besides, there are many more options on the menu to cater to the varied preferences of guests. As always, wind up your five-course meal with dessert—the perfect ending to any meal.
