Café Tramvaj makes it to this list solely because of its location, its ambience and the uniqueness associated with it. Nestled in the heart of Wenceslas Square, Prague’s most iconic street, Café Tramvaj is essentially formed out of two crimson and beige tram cars standing beside each other. It looks glorious when seen from a distance and adds more character to the bustling square. However, considering the exclusivity of the address, the prices are on the higher side and terribly so. Paying for a cup of coffee made me wonder whether I was actually sipping on the world’s favourite beverage or a cup of platinum infused gold. The locals are amusingly conspicuous by their absence.Café Tramvaj is also home to Prague’s much loved beer and light bites in the form of sandwiches and cake slices. They are nothing out of the ordinary, but taste just fine if you are in the right mood. If you are ready to burn a hole in your pocket just in order to enjoy the atmosphere, a visit is essential. If not, just walk around the cafe, check the menu, click as many pictures as you want and hop into the Starbucks across the street.
What to eat: You are not here to eat and it’s best to remember that. A cup of coffee should suffice.
