Started as a tiny restaurant in Chennai, Saravana Bhavan now has branches all over the world and is a reliable bet for Tamil vegetarian fare. It serves excellent idlis, vadas, dosas, uthappams and rice dishes flavoured with lemon, tamarind, tomato or coriander. A highlight of the menu is their mini tiffin, which packs in a little bit of everything in a single meal. End your meal with a steaming cup of filter coffee and don’t forget to stock up on traditional savoury munchies on your way out.
