Ever heard of a chocolate omelette? Well, on the buzzing mall road of Mussoorie, you will find a small eatery that is known for perhaps the best omelettes in India. Well, this is the dictum given by many who have lapped up Khurshid Mohammed’s variety of omelettes. He is the proprietor and chef of Lovely Omelette Centre and has come a long way from selling eggs to serving his signature omelettes. But what stand out are chocolate omelettes, very popular amongst the kids. What makes the omelette so special is one key thing in the recipe. Beating the egg properly and then mixing a little turmeric to it. Khurshid likes to add haldi (turmeric) as it eliminates the eggy smell and aids in digestion. Besides the tourists, the centre has been a big hit for schoolchildren and other locals. School kids are the most prized customers here as they get their grub free if they cannot afford to pay. If you are an egg lover and seeking an outstanding omelette, this is the place to be for a hearty meal.
