Surabhi Restaurant and Turban Museum

Surabhi has been around for around 17 years and has been a trend-setter in many ways. It was started by the late Shri DV Singh as a place which would give tourists an insight into the various aspects of Rajasthani culture. It was a unique concept that took-off from the word go and it's almost as if the tourist was waiting for something like this: he created a mini village in an old haveli and gave tourists a taste and feel of authentic Rajasthan - be it food or culture. Surabhi, the 200-cover restaurant, serves excellent food and its non-vegetarian stuff is highly recommended.
Their Chicken Tikka Lahsuni, Chicken Tikka Butter Masala, Mutton Rogan Josh, Mutton Soola and Garlic Naan are good. Vegetarians should not miss the Paneer Makhni, Bhindi Masala or Navratan Korma -preparations which have gone down very well with both tourists (international and Indian) and locals. Ditto for their Grilled Chicken and Spaghetti Bolognaise. Also recommended is their Rajasthani Special Thali (Rs 400 plus tax), which is available in both veg and non-veg options. For desserts, you'll get the the regular Jalebies, Gulab Jamun and Rasogullas. What makes the place inimitable is an interesting Turban Museum, the first of its kind in the country, which gives the visitor an insight into this fascinating headgear.
