This San Francisco treat is well-known for its great coffee and hip minimalist spaces. Now in four locations – Valencia Street, Haight Street, Flora Grubb Gardens, Octavia Street, and at the Oxbox Public Market in Napa. Established in 2005, Ritual Coffee Roasters see themselves as one of the pioneers in developing coffee from an old fashioned “slap in the face in the morning” to something to be respected and savoured.
Each location is cool and calm and welcomes the impression that they take their coffees very, very seriously. You can get your standard espresso coffees here along with other varieties such as latte and cappuccino. But what makes Ritual stand out is their approach to inventive ways of brewing coffee. Their menu outlines the different methods of the different roasts and for making coffee using a variety of apparatus. Their website has a helpful guide for those interested in learning and trying the different approaches at home, which includes the trendy cold brew and the simple Hario.

Ritual also sells a range of coffee-related products, including some superlative coffee beans, and other wholesale products. You can even take a free tour of their roastery for a look inside the world of coffee.
Overall Roastery is a fairly pricey option ($4- $5) for a cup of coffee, but must be respected for its dedication and enthusiasm for producing a quality product.
