You can now buy travel insurance right inside the airport in just 60 seconds. And you can do this by simply tapping your smartphones on the airport display screen. However, this facility is currently available only at Delhi’s International Airport, and is likely to be rolled out in other airports in the near future.

Reliance General Insurance has introduced this new way to purchase travel insurance, i.e., by just tapping the NFC- (near-field communication) enabled smartphones at select screens at the airport. This new Tap and Buy procedure will let to get your insurance in just 60 sec.

This system works on almost all smartphones, and it’s quite easy and simple to operate. Read on to know how it works:

• This Tap and Buy technology relies on NFC, which means short-range communication signal.
  
• You just need to tap your NFC-enabled smartphone on the NFC tags displayed on select airport display screens.
  
• You phone will automatically open Whatsapp, which will direct you to buy travel insurance.
