This ride takes us to Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district. The ride starts from Sirsi heading north on Yellapur Road. Take a pit stop after 14 km at Sahasralinga, to admire countless Shivalingas scattered along the river Shalmala. Continue the ride towards Yellapur, but turn left to our second stop of the day―Magod Falls. Formed by Bedti River, the water falls down from over 200 m height in two tiers. One needs to climb down a set of stairs to reach the viewpoint of the waterfalls. Very close to Magod is Jenukallu Gudda, a viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of the hills packed one behind the other. Make sure to be back to Yellapur before sunset since there is no food or stay facilities near Magod or Jenukallu Gudda.Day two takes us very close to River Kali, to Sathodi Falls. Sathodi is a small falls with a height of just 15 m formed by various small streams. The water then flows into the backwaters of the Kodasalli Dam, into the Kali River. Depending on the season, one can plunge into the water and relax sore muscles. Head back to Yellapur by noon after getting rejuvenated to travel back to Bangalore. It is advisable to pack and carry the food on both the days due to very less options on the road.
