Ghost sightings in GP Block
Behind the scenes
The property in GP Block has no private ownership; rather, it belongs to the Indian defence forces. Initially, the army would use the buildings as a sub-area office. However, in 1950s, the property was vacated, and a junior officer came to occupy it as his residence until the later part of the decade. Ever since, no one has officially moved into the buildings.
The army had appointed a few caretakers to take care of the ground floor of one of the three buildings; but it turned out that the greedy caretakers began renting out the premises to young couples and gamblers for a few hours.
And it finally happened…
Eventually, the caretakers had to be fired from the job because the cantonment had had enough of it. And now, the cantonment board has installed a big iron gate at the entrance to ward off the miscreants.
