The Odisha government is gearing up to develop sports tourism in light of Men’s Hockey World Cup that is to be held in November and December. The Hockey World Cup is scheduled to be held at Odisha’s Kalinga Stadium from November 28 to December 16, 2018. Odisha tourism is also planning a road-show that would start from September 27, aiming at sports tourism for the state. The roadshow will be held across 17 cities.
In fact, there was also a bus campaign in London in order to promote the world cup, and the message read, “Odisha by Morning, Hockey by Evening.” Now, the government has also planned to start bus campaigns in Sydney, Munich, and Malaysia. Clearly, no stone has been left unturned to promote the state as a sports tourism destination.
The Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018 will see Odisha Tourism as the host partner, while the state of Odisha as the title partner. The Hockey World Cup 2018 is expected to mark Odisha on the world map, and help promote its tourism to a large extent.
