Visit Andhra Food and Sweet Festival for a tryst with Andhra cuisine

The ongoing ‘Andhra Food and Sweet Festival’ in Vijayawada welcomes all food lovers to relish traditional recipes of Andhra Pradesh. This 15-day food festival is being organised by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department, which has been continuously making efforts to organise events and take part in initiatives in a move to make the local cuisine more popular.

The festival was recently inaugurated by Tourism and Cultural Affairs secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena at Novotel. Addressing the session, the minister was all praise for the local cuisine and mentioned how Andhra cuisine is very popular among tourists and travellers. And this event will also provide them with an opportunity to know more about the state’s delicious, authentic and traditional food.
In fact, Andhra food festivals are being conducted across the state to reach more audience and let tourists savour the wonders of Telugu cuisine. If you make your way to this fest, you will be served with starters like fresh veggies, Kodi Vepudu (chicken fry), sprouts, fish fry and bamboo chicken.
In the main course, guests will be served Kodi Pulav (chicken pulav), tomato rice, lemon rice and jeera rice. Also, the main course that the vegetarian menu will offer you will be tomato pappu, potato fry, mudda pappu, and a variety of pickles. And to be missed out on the generous spread of desserts that include poota rekulu, cashew nuts, ariselu, and kobbari burelu.
