Vaishno Devi-Bhairon Mandir ropeway service starts from today

There is good news for all those travelling to the Vaishno Devi temple. The ropeway service from Vaishno Devi Bhawan to Bhairon Mandir will be flagged off from today. From now on, you will need to pay just INR 100, and have a sure easy journey between the two points.
State Governor and Shrine Board Chairman Satya Pal Malik will be inaugurating the passenger cable car. And it is expected that with the opening of this cable car, devotees will be able to experience a hassle-free journey to the shrine.

As per belief, pilgrims’ journey to the Vaishno Devi Temple is not considered complete unless they visit Bhairon Mandir as well; the catch here is most pilgrims fail to reach Bhairon Mandir because of the steep climb. Now, the issue has been taken care of with the introduction of this new ropeway.
An official in the knowhow said that it is one of the unique cable car projects in the country that has been planned to reduce both travel distance and time. In fact, the Bhawan-Bhairon Mandir project has been strategically planned for crowd management and to help elderly people reach the desired spot at ease.
It took four years to complete this project, which will now be up and running leading the pilgrims to Bhairon Mandir in just a few minutes. Also, to tackle the harsh winter rush, Indian Railways will be running special trains between Delhi and Katra.
