Uttarakhand: Trek undertaken by PM and Bear Grylls to be developed as Modi Trail

The Uttarakhand Tourism Department is planning to develop the trail covered by Prime Minister Modi and Bear Grylls as Modi Trail, in a move to attract more tourists to Jim Corbett National Park.

Bear Grylls, who is one of the popular faces in the Discovery Channel show Man Vs Wild, accompanied the prime minister on his latest adventure, the episode of which was aired on August 12. The show’s response was huge, which motivated the department to name the trek Modi Trail, and market it accordingly.
In the show, PM Modi and Bear covered a distance of approximately 8 km across Jim Corbett National Park’s wilderness, while discussing about life, nature, and country. Latest reports now suggest that this particular path traversed by the duo will be developed by the state tourism department.
Referring to this development, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj recently announced that the trek where PM Modi and Grylls visited during the episode inside Jim Corbett National Park will now be developed as Modi Trail. The trekking route will be publicised as a separate identity in the famous national park. He added that Modi's enthusiasm in the wilderness, the route of trekking he took, would help attract more wildlife enthusiasts and tourists.
The minister further added that he visitors of the park would be excited to check out the Modi Trail and experience its wilderness. It is expected that this step will make this route even more popular, which is already world famous for its rich wildlife, especially the tigers.
