A royal abode
Umaid Bhawan Palace is an architectural marvel built between 1929 and 1943 under the patronage of Maharaja Umaid Singh. The palace was designed by the famous architect Henry Lanchester. Today, the palace is managed by the Taj Hotels and is also the residence of the former royal family of Jodhpur. Maharaja Gaj Singh II and his family live in a portion of the palace, and have opened the rest of the palace to visitors. The palace is among the few largest living palaces in the world.
Umaid Bhawan’s Vintage Car Collection
Among the collection are vintage treasures such as the 1939 Cadillac Series 75, the 1946 V12 Lincoln Continental, and the 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II. Each vehicle narrates a story of opulence and luxury, reflecting the royal family's love for timeless elegance.
Famous wedding venue
Beyond its historical and cultural significance, Umaid Bhawan Palace is also a luxury heritage hotel, offering guests a chance to experience the regal lifestyle firsthand. The hotel provides an immersive experience in Rajput hospitality, with its lavish suites, exquisite dining options, and world-class spa facilities.
Today, this grand pink stone place in Jodhpur stands as a beautiful example of Rajasthan's rich heritage and royal past. A visit to this palace is a must when in Jodhpur.
