Visakhapatnam might soon get a floating restaurant as an additional tourist attraction. The idea was proposed by Union Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari during his recent visit to the city. To check feasibility of this project, the port city has even appointed officials. Read less
Referring to this development, PI Harinadh, Deputy Chairman of Visakhapatnam Port Trust, said, “We will seek an expression of interest to find out which successful floating restaurant model is best suited for Visakhapatnam. We have to study various options for the technical and financial viability of the project.”
And regarding the cruise tourism, the project which was earlier withdrawn for a year after the fishermen objected to it, might soon get a new lease of life. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has now proposed to formulate plans to start cruise tourism between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada.
It is expected that these projects will certainly boost Vizag’s position in tourism circuit.
