Train hostesses and stewards for airline-like experience on Vande Bharat Express

The Indian Railways achieved a new milestone in early 2019 by introducing the fast speed train Vande Bharat Express for the convenience of tourists. While the railway officials have given a good shot at endowing this train with plenty of facilities, news has it that the train has also been equipped with train hostesses and stewards.
Reportedly, the pilot project has been devised to offer an airline-like experience to the passengers opting to travel in Vande Bharat Express. IRCTC has taken the responsibility to oversee the trial project. To fulfill the purpose of improving passenger convenience, about 34 trained female hospitality professionals and stewards have been deployed on the train for a period of six months on trial service basis. This service will be implemented in other trains once it has a successful run in Vande Bharat Express.


Apparently, IRCTC is working towards offering the best services to the passengers. Reportedly, the IRCTC has been paying INR 25000 per month to the on-train hostesses and stewards as compared to INR 8000 to 10000 paid by a licensee caterer to staff members, who serves food to the passengers.

The train is designed and developed by a Chennai-based Railways Production unit, Integral Coach Factory in just 18 months, which also includes the in-house design and manufacture, computer modelling and working etc.
The Make in India train Vande Bharat Express has a special braking system in the coaches to enable it to save 30 per cent of electrical energy. Now, with such efforts, it might just have everything for an unforgettable train journey.
