Some five km away, Bogmalo Beach is the nearest option from Dabolim Airport for visitors to enjoy a dip, sun, sand and beer. It is the touristy side of Vasco, where you are likely to see solo travellers, honeymooners, families and elderly European travellers. It is a popular beach to watch a surprisingly orange sun taking a dip in the Indian Ocean. You could also enjoy watching flights during their initial ascent as they take off from Dabolim. At a walking distance from the Naval Aviation Museum, this beach extends from its rocky western end to touch the hill adjoining the airport. There are different kinds of accommodations available on the beach―from resorts to guest houses. If you prefer living away from the beach, you can walk around to find suitable options in the nearby lanes. The beach also houses a few shopping outlets run by Kashmiris and the locals. A bus service connects Bogmalo to the airport with the last bus of the day leaving at 8 PM. For a ride later than that, taxi operators remain parked right at the entrance to the beach.
